Focussing on what we have still to do is a bit like looking up at a mountain when you are hiking and thinking about how far there is still to go before you reach the top.
Turning around and looking back to see how far you have come makes it much easier to keep going. Celebrating your progress makes it all feel that much more achievable.
If your To Do list feels a mile long (like mine does some days) it can leave you feeling that you will never get it all done.
Here’s something to try instead.
Celebrate what you have achieved.
At the end of the day write yourself a DONE list. One where you can write down all the things large and small that you have actually done today. It will probably be longer than you thought.
And because it’s a mini celebration of what you have achieved, tomorrow’s list will feel more doable.
Just like that getting up that mountain.
